Wood flooring is milled in three styles, strip, plank and parquet. Each style is available in solid and engineered and come prefinished or unfinished.

Strip Flooring

Strip flooring is linear flooring that is usually 2 1/4", 1 1/2", or 3 1/4" wide. It creates a linear effect in a room often promoting the illusion of a larger space. This is generally considered your “traditional” flooring and is found in many homes in the Tampa Bay area.

This product can be combined with borders or embellished with inlays for a truly unique floor.

Plank Flooring

Plank flooring is also linear, however it is wider than strip. Common widths of plank flooring are 3", 4", 5", and 6", but can be as wide as 24”. Plank can have a rustic look, especially in woods of a lesser grade. The greater widths are best used in larger areas or rooms.

Because of the humid conditions here in Tampa Bay, we frequently recommend that any wide plank hardwood flooring that we install be engineered to decrease the chance of cupping.

Plank displays grain beautifully, and a hand distressed plank floor is a genuine work of art.

Parquet Flooring

Parquet flooring is a series of wood flooring pieces that create a geometric design. It can be purchased as a precut pattern, or we can custom create it from strip or plank.

Parquet has a formal look and is stunning in a larger home. It combines beautifully with antique furniture and luxurious fabrics.
